Reviews

Balanced roast

"Great earthy medium dark roast, without any acidic or burnt aftertaste."

Aria N. (5/5)

Great from the grind

"You can tell this is going to be a great cup of coffee from the moment you grind it with a rich nutty aroma. Coffee doesn’t disappoint."

David L. (5/5)

Nice but not distinctive

"Initially, the beans ground up beautifully, and I was anticipating that first, flavorful cup. Alas, although it was bold, it lacked a distinctive flavor I was hoping for."

Darryl S. (4/5)

Great way to start the day!

"This coffee is smooth and makes for a great cup to wake up with every morning. The aroma is very pleasant and has the whole house requesting a cuppa."

Gary S. (5/5)

Delicious

"Switched from Black Knight to this one and I have to say it is one of my favorite coffee blends. Not quite as dark as the Black knight but definitely more flavorful."

John R. (5/5)

Excellent taste

"I’m very impressed with the balance and flavor of this product and would by it again."

Martin K. (5/5)

Much better than my first

"Much better than my first order. Also, pods are much more convenient than grinding coffee. There is no mess or coffee grinds to clean up, yet, there is no discernable difference in flavor to warrant the extrra effort of grinding coffee. My only reservation is cost. When I project buying these coffee pods for a year, I may end up spending around $500; that's a lot to spend on coffee. Yes, the flavor is much better than store bought coffee, but it does come at a significant price. Still, this is the best tasting coffee I've had in years. Thanks."

Q&A

Is Coffiend organic? I don't see the emblem for that on the bag. I wish more of them were!
Hello, No, Coffiend is not one of our organic selections. Team FRC
Approx. how long does the bag of coffee grinds stay fresh? Meaning, if I buy 2-3 of the 5lb bags, and do not open them until ready to brew, how long with the coffee grinds stay fresh when sealed?
That's a great question! First, whole beans will stay fresh longer than ground coffee, so buy beans if at all possible. However, we know not everyone has a grinder, so we nitrogen-flush each and every bag - beans and pre-ground - and seal them up tight. Bags also have a one-way valve to allow the coffee to de-gas while keeping the oxygen out. Oxygen is what makes your coffee go stale, by the way. But even after everything we do to protect the flavor, air will eventually get in. Flavors peak a few days to a week or so after roasting (depending on the coffee) and will slowly decline from there. Keeping the bags sealed until you're ready to use them and storing them in a cool, dark, dry place until you're ready to use them will go a long way towards keeping your coffee as tasty as possible for as long as possible. So to answer your question, with proper storage are you good for a few weeks? Yes, absolutely. A few months? Well, it's not going to be as fresh, but it will still be tasty. A few years? We wouldn't really recommend it.
What's the difference between a dry beans and an oily bean? Thanks
Hey Dan! All coffee produces oil over time. It's part of the natural process. Dry beans usually due to a lighter roast and oilier beans are usually from a dark roast (but this can always vary depending on the bean type, age of the coffee, etc.)! Hope this helps. Team FRC
