Organic Ethiopian Sidamo - Unroasted Coffee Beans

Our organic Sidamo green coffee originates from Southern Ethiopia. Our Roastmaster recommends keeping this selection at a lighter roast level to preserve the incredibly sweet, fruity flavor and bright acidity. Roasting this coffee to a darker level will dull the natural sweetness that makes Sidamo such a sought-after varietal.

Ingredients: Organic 100% Arabica coffee.

Organic certified by PA Certified Organic. OU Kosher certified. Produced in an SQF-certified, renewable energy-powered facility.

Do not grind, brew, or consume unroasted coffee. Green coffee beans that have been purchased and used/roasted are not returnable. Green coffee may not be sold in Hawaii or Puerto Rico.

My Favorite

"Ethiopian Sidamo has a very natural sweetness in its finish. It's probably my favorite coffee because of this. I tend to like my roast a little on the lighter side for this coffee as it preserves the natural flavors. I'm really a novice with roasting and there's still a lot of experimentation. However, if you let this one roast about a minute after first crack, it seems to come out fine."

Excellent Ethiopian Beans for roasting!

"This bean is probably one of my favorite. My preference for roast is a medium with a touch of oil and I can typically get there in about 15 mins at 474 degrees. I know that most Ethiopians are roasted lighter and take on a more floral flavor, but this bean tastes great on the medium/dark side, with notes of caramel and chocolate. The beans are so consistent and I get a nice even roast every time, this has become my go-to coffee bean."

Yes, Blueberry!

"TL;DR: if you enjoy blueberry notes, this is a must try! I have been roasting my own coffee beans since March of this year. I currently us a Cafemasy branded roaster. I roasted the Ethiopian Sidamo from in a home roaster for private consumption. The roaster I use is the cheaper model from Amazon has a non stick heating surface. I usually put appropriately 9-9.5 ounces of green coffee beans in the roaster at a time with full heat applied. This usually yields about 8 ounces of roasted coffee. Sidamo is recommended to be a light to medium roast. I have found great results when roast until the first audible crack, plus one minute and then immediately put the beans in a stainless colander. I have an electric fan plugged into an outside outlet that is use to cool the beans while rotating them in the colander. I find that Sidamo is great for grinding and drinking even immediately after the beans hit room temperature. Some of the darker roasted beans I have tried definitely benefit from at least a few days of resting. I am never one to add any flavoring to the coffee that I roast. I find these beans to be of a very high quality and they always seem to roast evenly; even on my cheap setup. If you enjoy flavor notes of blueberry, you cannot go wrong with the Ethiopian Sidamo from FRC! After doing some research on green coffee beans for home roasting, I found that Fresh Roasted Coffee is a very reliable source! I highly recommend the coffee and the company distributing it!"
