The Chemex® ChemAer™ started as an idea sparked by interaction with the Specialty Coffee community. This brewer is a coffeemaker and aerator combined and is a unique and fun tool geared towards anyone who enjoys a good coffee experiment along with a great cup of coffee.

By swirling brewed coffee against the paddles formed into the side of the ChemAer™, the agitation brings more oxygen into the liquid and cools the temperature. Doing this changes to flavor beyond the initial extraction, which is where the experimentation comes in! Try it on all types of roasts, swirl to left or swirl to the right, have fun and see where to journey leads you.

The ChemAer™ was developed in collaboration with Trendglas and Hungarian Barista champion Attila Molnár. The goal was to create a product which offered an additional option for brewing coffee, one where anybody can enjoy the experience of experimenting with flavor in an elegant and easy way.

CHEMEX coffeemakers are made from the same high-quality glass used for lab ware. Used along with the scientifically designed CHEMEX bonded filters, our pour over system will remove bad fats, bitterness, acidity and sediments that all other types of filters leave behind. Enjoy the perfect cup of coffee, every time you have it.

Uses CHEMEX® Bonded Filters FP-1, FC-100, FS-100 FSU-100

chemex and filters

"It's nice to be able to make coffee with something not made of plastic. The chemex works great. Fresh roasted coffee had the best price around believe it or not. Would shop from them again. Plus they messed up my order for filters originally and promptly sent me through correct filters which I appreciated."

— Craig N. (5/5)

Super Smooth Cup

"I recently purchased the 6 cup Chemex coffee maker on a whim. Not sure why I have never thought about trying this before, but I have been missing out. The quality of the maker is topnotch and the results are fantastic. I can't say enough about the flavor and smoothness this unit achieves. Now my go to for a great cup of coffee."

Makes Great Coffee

"Very pleased with my Chemex 6 Cup. Perfect size for making my morning batch. After adjusting the grind size accordingly, the Chemex pour over makes a very balanced and smooth cup."

— Brent G. (5/5)

What makes this special is

"What makes this special is the engineering that went into it; Included is the design is an air channel that allows the air to escape as the coffee filters in. The angle of the water chamber allows for the proper water flow for the number of cups specified. All in all, the original is superior to the copycats."

— Patrick M. (5/5)

Better than the Coffee Shop

"This Coffee maker is without doubt the best along with FRC the days don't get much better."

— Michael U. (5/5)

Chemex is the most premium home coffee experience

"The 8-cup chemex is the perfect brewer. I think it's ideal for brewing coffee for 1-3 people at a time, but it could handle up to 4 if necessary. By its structural design and premium filter, it delivers the most pure coffee. Plus, it's a beautiful piece for the kitchen."

— Levi L. (5/5)
