Guayusa - Botanical Tea Pods

Our organic Guayusa (gwhy-you-sa) herb is harvested from the Amazon rainforests of Ecuador. This caffeinated herb from the holly tree is the cousin of Yerba Mate, but has a much more mild and sweet flavor profile making it a more palatable option for many.

Guayusa is known for its gentle and balanced stimulant effects due to naturally occurring alkaloids (also found in green tea). These alkaloids are known to produce a sustainable release of caffeine without a crash. Guayusa leaves also contain polyphenols, which can help to promote a decrease in inflammation and support the immune system.

Ground Guayusa? It's not coffee.

"Poor quality, terribly fine grind. Cannot recommend. To start this Guayusa is green, which is a good sign of freshness, but unfortunately, this company is grinding it up like it's coffee and that is unacceptable. It leads to slow moving and clogging tea straining, as well as a more bitter taste. Most of my bag is in powder form, which is similar to inexpensive Yerba Mate, but this is not drank in a gourd. Disappointed to say the least. Images show this Guayusa on left, others (larger leaf) on right."
